ReplyDeleteFor current (2013-) Classic EFI-500 with 19-in front and 18-in rear
ReplyDeleteRE say 18psi front and 28psi rear (solo) 20psi front and 30psi rear (pillion)
But Avon say 27psi front and 29psi rear (Roadrider)
The correct answer is somewhere in-between.
Low front pressure causes wayward steering, high front pressure less contact area. Contact area is weight on wheel divided by tyre pressure. Weight includes load. Under braking assume 45:55 front to rear loading - 24psi/28psi thereabouts.
I have a RE classic 500 and wish to fill my tyres with nitorgen what would be teh required pressure then

ReplyDeleteHello guys , am litle confused with nitrogen vs compressed air , well am using nitogen[Front 20- Rear 30 ] for tube tyre in classic 350 , will this be fine ?
ReplyDeleteWhy is so f. Ing hard getting rear tyer on my bullet c5. You tube shows people in flip flops and a 6 inch tyer lever edging it on. Iv got a tyer lever 3 foot long and I weigh in at 22 stone and it just ain't happening not at all not close. It took the tyer garage plus 3 members of staff to get it on. I'm really pi. Off.
